there are so many places you may wish to visit well within an hours travelling time or an hour and a half that the listings are far too extensive to list here.
i have personally visited many, many attractions and would recommend them to visitors to the area. it all depends on what you wish to go and see and what your interests may be.
 
there are the attractions in london such as the tower of london. madam tussauds, the london eye,buckingham palace and many, many other attractions within the capital city.
 
the london theatres always have absolutely brilliant shows on too which i can recommend.
 
There are so many attractions a bit closer to home which i am sure a lot of local residents dont even know about yet ! !. you as a visitor   will be one step ahead here. we have bird sanctuaries which have extensive breeds of raptors which are of a charitable nature however, charge a fee to have a look at the magnificent birds within their care. i went to a raptor foundation recently and the birds were so funny that when the handlers were speaking to them it was as though the birds were speaking back. i do think it depends on the birds temperament though.
 
we have a space science museum well within travelling distance and its very informative and a half day could easily be spent at the attraction.
 
we have a theme park about an hour away if the thrills of the rides were your thing.
 
we have museums of varying categories which covers from yesteryear daily farming living to the way commodities such as shoes were manufactured within the northants area.
 
The jewel in the crown, the mother of all attractions has to be the museum in whats known as "the black country". this museum certainly has the adults and the childrens attention from start to finish. the whole site could well take two days to see properly and have a leisurely day on each visit.
 
Any excursions chosen by you as a visitor will incur extra costs depending on which attraction you wish to visit. just mail me and i can work out a good price for you as you may well have asked me to transport you from your airport.

 LOVELY SMALL FAMILY RUN PUB AND GUEST HOUSE SET IN THE LOVELY TOWN OF BACUP, FORMERLY ONE OF THE UK'S SHOE MANUFACTURING TOWNS WHICH HAS SEEN A DECLINE IN THE SHOE INDUSTRY HOWEVER IS ATTRACTING PLENTY NEW BUSINESSES. (ON A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN THE PROPRIETORS GET A TEN FROM ME).

ABSOLUTELY SMASHING LITTLE PLACE IN THE TOWN OF PENRITH WHICH IS A LOVELY LITTLE MARKET TOWN. THE PROPRIETORS ARE VERY SOCIABLE AND HELPFUL WITH JUST ABOUT ANY GUESTS REQUIREMENTS. WWW.CALEDONIAGUESTHOUSE.CO.UK
 
THE PAIGNTON COURT HOTEL (PAIGNTON)
ANOTHER HOTEL WITH GREAT PROPRIETORS WHO ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE HOTEL IS VERY REASONABLY PRICED AND OFFERS SMART CLEAN WELL EQUIPPED ROOMS WITH A LARGE CAR PARK.
 
THE ASHILL INN (ASHILL) CLOSE TO ILMINSTER,YEOVIL.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC COUNTRY PUB RUN BY A COUPLE WHO OFFER SECOND TO NONE SERVICE, ROOMS, FOOD AND WILL DO ALL TO ENSURE GUESTS HAVE A COMFORTABLE STAY. (NO SHOWER YET THOUGH) BATH AVAILABLE AND SINK IN ROOM.THIS LOVELY LITTLE PUB IS OWNED BY A COUPLE WHO I COULD COMPARE TO MY MOTHER AND FATHER (AGEWISE WITH THAT YESTERYEAR ATTITUDE TO MANNERS AND OUTLOOK ON LIFE). ABSOLUTELY GREAT COUPLE.
